Writing Party
Last week we finished our first unit of writing personal narratives. We selected one and polished it up so it was ready to share with other authors. We met with Mrs. Marsh's friends and shared our stories while enjoying some freezie-pops.

What's the best way to melt a Freezie Pop?
As part of our Science Unit on Solids, Liquids and Gases we had to solve a problem..."For lunch we forgot our juice box. We had a freezie pop instead. We had 15 minutes to melt our freezie pop so we would have a drink with lunch."
Halloween
Second Graders love Halloween. Everyone helped me make some Witches Brew. I sent home the recipe...it was a hit. We participated in the school parade and learned some new "brain breaks." Finally, we learned how to be safe while trick-or-treating.
Pumpkin Day
Last week second grade had an all day "Pumpkin Day." The entire day was filled with activities related to pumpkins. We even scrapped out the pulp and counted all the seeds inside. Thank you to everyone who donated a pumpkin!

Science with Marshmallows and Toothpicks
